Actually, I think a modified re-enactment of a slave's life is a great idea for people of all skin colors. It would create so much understanding: increased historical knowledge, empathy for what they went through, foster a desire to protect and lift others, and battle the entitlement attitude prevalent across the nation by awakening us to a knowledge of how blessed we are today. The trek experience helps people to do many of those things. It gets them to step outside their spoiled modern lives and to think of the sacrifices of those who have gone before to get them to where they are now. For anyone of any age to step onto an old time plantation and see slave quarters (they could step in and lie down on the dirt floor with no room to turn over and imagine sleeping there and then actually sleep in tents or crude bare bones cabins). None would be able to work even a full day, but they could work an hour each at a couple of the most common tasks. They could have to haul water and cook their meals over a fire, etc. I wish I had the funds to develop such a camp! The educational value and perspective could be immense!

I love how you say you’ve got to watch David to make sure he’s got it right! Lol. Your way of sharing your feelings, your faith. Etc really reaches peoples souls! You’re so awesome. In regards to 3 things the priest does as he prays. He observes what goodness he does (?) or what others do? Thanks God. Pls give an example of him holding back from trusting God. Anything. He recognizes his weakness - lets it go. Then he ask god what is one thing you need me to do tomorrow. I love this; I want to make sure I do it right. Of course, I’ll pray about this.
